The Star-Batt Mini and Star-Batt PLUS are both rugged portable power systems built for the Starlink® Mini, each delivering 24+ hours of runtime. The Star-Batt Mini features a 576Wh all-in-one LiFePO₄ battery in a sealed, IP65-rated case, but due to its battery size, it is not FAA carry-on compliant. The Star-Batt PLUS is built inside a Pelican™ 1450 case and uses FAA-compliant removable battery packs, along with an RJ45 Ethernet passthrough, making it ideal for air travel and professional or mission-critical deployments.
Both the Star-Batt Mini and Star-Batt PLUS provides over 24 hours of run time, dependent on internet usage.
The Star-Batt can be charged via the included AC wall adapter, DC car charging cable, or by a solar panel such as our Star-Batt Solar, which allows you to maintain off-grid internet access indefinitely, as long as there’s sunlight.
Yes, Star-Batt Mini and PLUS can power additional devices through its USB and PD outlets, allowing you to charge laptops, phones, and other devices.
The Star-Batt Mini and PLUS both fit the Starlink ® Mini dish exclusively.
Starlink service is not included. You will need to purchase a Starlink® Mini dish and subscribe to Starlink service separately for internet access.
The Star-Batt Mini is not FAA carry-on compliant due to its 576Wh lithium battery capacity, which exceeds the FAA’s size limits for passenger aircraft. Because many of our customers travel for government, enterprise, and mission-critical deployments, we developed the Star-Batt PLUS specifically to solve this problem. The PLUS uses FAA-compliant removable battery packs and is built inside a Pelican™ 1450 case, allowing you to fly with approved battery modules while maintaining the same rugged durability and 24+ hour runtime Star-Batt is known for.
In the event your Star-Batt does not turn on, plug into a power source even if you believe your device is charged. The built in BMS (battery management system) automatically disconnects power from the batteries if there is a power issue detected, and will reset when a charger is connected.
The built in BMS (Battery Management System) automatically avoids over-charging of the batteries, but once fully charged and not in use, it is recommended to disconnect your Star-Batt from the charger to avoid causing damage to the cells inside the battery. The battery has a maximum charge of 29.2v, but the optimal float charge of the battery is around 27.6v.
The rotating latches inside the case are designed to be semi-serviceable by the end user. To adjust the tension on the rotating latch, you can tighten or loosen the nut on top of the rotating latch with a 7/16” wrench. If for some reason the one side of the latch breaks off, the latch can be rotated 180º and reused by removing the nut retaining it with a 7/16” wrench.
